Who we are
ezylinkindia is a local business directory for India. You can browse it at ezylinkindia.com or in our Android app. This policy covers both, and is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and Google Play's User Data policy.

You can use most of it without an account
Searching, browsing categories, opening a business profile, calling or messaging a business — none of that needs you to sign in, and we do not ask for your name, email or phone number to do it.
What we collect
Email address
To create your account and send the 6-digit sign-in code. If you use “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your email address and name — we never see your Google password.
Until you delete your account
Your name (optional)
Shown with your reviews as a first name and initial, e.g. “Priya S.”. You can leave it blank or change it any time.
Until you delete your account
Phone number (business owners only)
Matches you to the listing our team registered for you, so you can manage it.
Until you delete your account
Approximate or precise location
Only when you tap “Use my current location”. Your coordinates are sent with that one search so we can sort businesses by distance from you, and are then discarded — we do not save them, do not attach them to your account, and never track you in the background.
Not kept — used for that search only
What you searched for
The words and category you searched are logged so we can see which services people look for and recruit those businesses. The log holds the search terms only — not your name, your account or your location.
Anonymous; kept as aggregate statistics
Reviews, favourites and reviewers you block
So your saved businesses follow you between the app and the website, reviews show under your name, and reviews from people you block stay hidden for you. Your block list is visible only to you.
Until you delete them, or delete your account
Profile views, and taps on Call / WhatsApp / Directions
Counted so a business owner can see how many people viewed and contacted them. Stored as a count against the business with a random browser or app identifier — not against you.
Anonymous; kept as business statistics
If our team lists your business
The listing itself (name, category, address and map pin, photos, hours, offers, products, and the business phone, WhatsApp and website you choose to show) is public. The owner’s own mobile number and email are private: used only to link you to your listing and contact you. We also keep a record of package payments.
While the listing exists; payment records as long as tax law requires
Basic technical logs
IP address and request information kept briefly by our hosting providers to keep the service up and block abuse.
Short-term, by our providers
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data. Not to anyone, ever.
- We do not show third-party advertising, and there are no advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.
- We do not track your location in the background. The app asks for location only when you tap the location button, and only while it is open.
- We do not read your contacts, photos, files, SMS or call logs. The app asks for no such permission.
- We do not place your data in an automated decision that has a legal effect on you.
Android app permissions
The app asks for as little as it can:
- Internet and network state — to load listings and to tell you when you are offline.
- Approximate and precise location — requested only when you tap “Use my current location”, and used only to sort results by distance. Decline it and everything still works; you just pick your area by hand.
Calls are placed by handing the number to your phone's dialler, so the app never needs permission to make calls itself. WhatsApp messages open in WhatsApp.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of processors, each doing one job under contract. They may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Supabase — our database and sign-in system. Your data is stored in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, in India.
- Vercel — serves the website. Its request logs may be processed outside India.
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google”, to confirm who you are. Google's own privacy policy applies to that step.
- Hostinger — sends your 6-digit sign-in code by email.
- OpenStreetMap — the small maps on business pages and in the location picker are loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address and the map area shown.
- Voice search — if you tap the microphone, your browser's or phone's own speech service (usually Google) turns your voice into text. We receive only the text.
- Google Play — if you install the app from the Play Store, Google gives us anonymous install and crash statistics. These are not tied to your account.
We will also disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone from harm.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date — most of it you can edit yourself in the app.
- Delete your account and your personal data.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
Email arur@ezylinkindia.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, with no need to email anyone:
- In the app — Account → Delete my account.
- On the web — ezylinkindia.com/delete-account.
It happens immediately, not after a waiting period. Your sign-in, profile, saved businesses and reviews are erased straight away, and you are signed out everywhere.
Two things we keep, and why. If you contacted a business through us, that business keeps the enquiry — but we erase your name, phone number and message from it first. And if you own a business listing, the listing stays published (it is a commercial record with contact details the business asked us to publish); we simply unlink it from you. Ask us and we will take the listing down too. Accounting and moderation records are kept where Indian law requires, with your account unlinked from them.
Keeping it safe
- All traffic is HTTPS. The app refuses plain HTTP outright.
- Your sign-in tokens are stored in Android's encrypted storage, backed by the device keystore, and are excluded from device backups.
- The database enforces row-level security, so one account cannot read another's data even if the app asked it to.
- We use sign-in codes and Google sign-in rather than passwords, so there is no password of yours for us to lose.
Children
ezylinkindia is meant for adults looking for local businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the date at the top, and — for anything significant — tell you in the app.
Grievance Officer
As required by the DPDP Act 2023 and the IT Rules. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 7 days; a request to remove unlawful content is acted on within the times the IT Rules set.
